Key Responsibilities
Meetings & Event Planning (60%)
Support the execution of national and regional conferences (logistics, registration, A/V, catering, housing, etc.)
Manage timelines, budgets, and internal deadlines
Serve as staff liaison to volunteer planning committees
Coordinate speaker communications and manage event technology (e.g., mobile apps, signage, materials)
Collaborate with hotels and vendors on logistics and on-site operations
Research and recommend potential meeting locations
Travel for in-person meetings (3–4 times annually)
Contribute to post-meeting evaluation and continuous improvement
CME/MOC Accreditation Management (25%)
Support the development and documentation of accredited programs
Ensure compliance with ACCME and ABIM standards for multiple meetings
Collect and review faculty disclosures and manage COI processes
Maintain accreditation records and support audit readiness
Volunteer & Member Support (15%)
Collaborate with SGIM members on educational initiatives and committee-led projects
Respond to inquiries professionally and promptly
Partner across departments to enhance member engagement and resolve issues
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
2–4 years of relevant experience in an association or nonprofit setting
Experience in meeting planning, CME/CE accreditation, or project coordination preferred
Familiarity with ScholarOne or abstract management systems a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; comfort with virtual platforms and event tools
Self-directed, accountable, and able to thrive in a remote work environment
Willingness to travel several times per year
