Position Description The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks a non-tenure track adjunct faculty to teach AS.486.605 Ethics, Integrity, and the Responsibility of Leaders within the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership program. The course will be taught fully online beginning in Spring 2022. Candidates with online course development and teaching experience and those with experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds are of particular interest.
The first part of this course introduces students to the classical literature in philosophical ethics, including consequentialist, regularian, deontological, and virtue approaches. The second part of the course explores the ethical responsibilities professionals have toward themselves, corporations, the government, and the public. In the third part of the course, students apply an appropriate decision-making framework and gain experience in decision-making surrounding ethical issues. Course discussions will center on issues involving research, research designs and populations, privacy, and confidential or sensitive information. During their final project, students will codify an individual code of ethics in relation to professional codes of conduct.
Advanced Academic Programs The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
An advanced degree in Organizational Leadership, Organizational Development, Management, or in a relevant field, such as Organizational Psychology, with a master's degree at minimum
10 years of professional experience in leadership roles in the private, public, or nonprofit sector
Preferred Qualifications
A terminal degree in Organizational Leadership or in a relevant field, such as Organizational Development, Business Management, or Organizational Psychology
1-3 years of graduate-level teaching experience
Online teaching experience
A background in teaching a wide variety of courses in the discipline, including change management, project management, strategic planning, crisis mitigation, organizational development, and team building, coaching, and mentoring.
