Virginia Health Options (VHO) seeks an experienced professional to serve as its Executive Director (ED). As the organization’s leader, the Executive Director implements VHO’s mission of serving those with chronic conditions (like HIV) through programs that provide support services and breaks down barriers to care. The Executive Director supervises a current staff of nine, manages programs with a current annual funding of $1.4 million, and implements policies and programs established by the Board of Directors. Selection Criteria
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree with focus in such areas as human services, public health, public policy, public administration, or comparable discipline
Three (3) years progressively responsible supervisory or leadership positions.
Successful experience reporting to and collaborating with senior leadership such as a Board of Directors.
Demonstrated fundraising success, including but not limited to writing successful grant applications and managing grant funding
Demonstrated budget management and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
Expertise in office technology (MS Office Suite) and social media
Preferred (one or more of the following):
Master’s degree or higher
Experience managing federal grants, especially those related to HIV/AIDS services (e.g., Ryan White Care Act)
Demonstrated community leadership

Valid Driver’s License: The position requires the ability to attend business meetings in person throughout the region and the state.
VHO, Inc.’s mission is to provide assistance to populations with chronic health conditions experiencing barriers in obtaining, understanding and effectively using health insurance and other supports to manage their health conditions. VHO's primary program provides low-income People Living with HIV (PLWH) expanded options in their care, giving them the benefit and flexibility of receiving HIV-related care in a medical setting of their choosing - a private infectious disease practice, primary care, or specialist practice.
