Grantmakers In Health (GIH) is looking for a dynamic Program Director who enjoys delving into pressing health issues and designing programs that help the staff and trustees of foundations and corporate giving programs advance their missions and improve health outcomes for all.
The Program Director will:
Develop focused health programming for staff and trustees of foundations and corporate giving programs, including webinars, in-person meetings, learning communities, and sessions within GIH’s standing conferences.
Research and write about public health issues for grantmaking and other philanthropic audiences. Develop surveys, write reports, and design infographics that track health trends in the field of health philanthropy.
Build effective relationships with grantmakers and provide strategic advice in response to requests for assistance on programmatic and operational issues.
Work as a team with other Program Directors and GIH staff to develop high quality resources and events for the GIH community.
Represent GIH externally by effectively communicating about GIH, highlighting the work of health philanthropy, giving presentations, and collaborating with grantmakers and other organizations on public health issues.
We are looking for someone with:
Expertise and thought leadership in in either behavioral health, climate and health, or both.
Experience with philanthropy or philanthropy serving organizations.
Experience in community engagement and empowerment.
Experience developing public health programs in a nonprofit, government agency, or foundation environment.
Experience in policy research, data analysis, and advocacy at the state or federal level.
Experience in offering strategic guidance, building partnerships, and forming networks.
Excellent verbal and written communications and facilitation skills.
A graduate degree and at least three years of work experience in a health-related field or a bachelor's degree and at least five years of work experience in a health-related field.
