Job Overview
As a member of Prospect Development (PD) within Georgetown University's Office of Advancement (OA), the Prospect Information Analyst focuses primarily on identifying and verifying new prospective donors via statistical or other creative means.
They act as a project manager on projects and requests related to our internal clients. In concert with client teams, as well as PD partners, they are responsible for formulating strategies, planning and executing projects, and providing prospect information to enhance the top level of Georgetown University's pool of prospective individual donors.
The Prospect Information Analyst interacts with colleagues at all levels, including program managers and OA executive staff in work that directly impacts the quality and quantity of known prospects within each client team's pool and portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Prospect Development, they have consultative relationships with the development associates, executive assistants, and development officers of the unit or regional teams to which they are assigned. As well, they work closely with the Records team ensuring the data in GU360 is timely and accurate; and play an integral role in finding and researching donors for each initiative Georgetown University pursues.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience - preferably an advanced degree in a relevant area of study
1 to 3 years of work experience - preferably in a higher education fundraising or nonprofit environment
Demonstrated creative and flexible research skills, including the ability to analyze, interpret, summarize and present information effectively
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Salesforce
Skilled in reading and interpreting financial documents and information, including SEC documents/filings, thorough knowledge of financial terms, vehicles and types of transactions, as well as investment funds and strategy, and the finance, investment and alternative investment industries
Knowledge of Advancement database/CRM systems
Demonstrated knowledge of prospect screening methodologies, services, tools and their application in the identification of prospective donors
Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to function well in a multiple-team environment, and the ability to prioritize and work independently, responsibly, and meet deadlines
Excellent oral and face-to-face communication skills, as well as the ability to consistently produce concise, professional written communications
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, including executive level clients
Experience and references demonstrating scrupulous accuracy and attention to detail, including professional/business writing proficiency; as well as the ability to exercise sound, independent judgment and follow established protocols and procedures
Advanced general knowledge of the MS Office suite of applications (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); and demonstrated ability to use online resources and databases creatively and effectively
Commitment to professional ethics, ability to apply an ethical code and good judgment; and ability to handle confidential materials and situations with sensitivity and discretion.
Demonstrable Level I competencies in the following areas of the Prospect Research domain of the Body of Knowledge for Prospect Development Professionals: Prospect Research Essentials; Financial Capacity Evaluation and Wealth Indicators; Prospect Interests and Networks/Relationships; Research Checklist and Written and Verbal Skills; and Organization and Fundraising Knowledge
Experience with accurately interpreting donors' giving information and presenting it in research products
Experience with Python (including web scraping, data visualization, data analysis, relationship mapping, or geographic analysis)
Experience with SQL, Einstein, and Tableau visualization software
Reading/writing fluency in one or more world languages, in addition to English

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $41,926.00 - $65,090.00
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
