Live Better Hearing 4th year externship program.
Live Better Hearing offers a one-year Audiology Externship for students enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Audiology program.
This externship provides in-depth clinical knowledge and skills that enable practitioners to provide high-quality comprehensive audiology care. Education focuses on patient care, providing state-of-the-art clinical audiology services to a primarily adult population.
In-depth clinical experiences are provided to develop a well-rounded, competent audiologist, including:
- Audiological evaluations
- Hearing aid consultations, demonstrations, selection, fitting and dispensing
- Balance assessment
- Videonystagmography
- Canalith repositioning procedures
- Auditory evoked potentials
- Otoacoustic emissions
- Assistive listening devices
- Tinnitus counseling
- Completion of 3rd year of accredited AuD program
- Experience with hearing evaluations and fittings
- Self-Sufficient, team-player, hardworking, competent, confident and patient
- Good problem-solving skills, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required
