Job Overview
The Director of MBA Recruitment and Diversity Partnerships manages the recruitment and events strategy in order to recruit high quality potential students to the MBA program. They develop and maintain a written plan and are responsible for the execution of it for both the Full-time and Flex MBA Programs (in-person and online).
They oversee on- and off-campus major events, including but not limited to admissions presentations/information sessions, diversity events, admitted student weekend events, Flex Preview Days, fairs, and virtual events. As well, they serve in a business development role to both manage current external partnerships (e.g., Forte, Consortium, MLT, Peace Corps, ROMBA, Admit.me, Prospanica) and work to support her direct report in developing new partnerships (e.g., corporate, embassies, nonprofits, professional associations) in order to build our pipeline of competitive MBA applicants.
Finally, the Director serves as the main point of contact developing new and maintaining current diversity recruitment responsibilities. They oversee the marketing tactics related to promoting events. A key focus of this team is using analytics to make decisions, so the Director leverages Salesforce and Marketo to assist in events analytics; and has budget responsibilities for all major Admissions events and Alumni/ Student Initiatives.
The Director represents the Georgetown MBA Program at national and international student recruitment events, plans and attends on- and off-campus events, including domestic and international interviews- and also conducts candidate interviews. They also serve as a senior member of the MBA Admissions Committee and is responsible for reading, evaluating, and making final decisions on applications for admission; in this role, they analyze and synthesize a large amount of data in an effort to select the most appropriate applicants for admission to the MBA program. The Director not only helps to select the strongest applicants from a large and diverse applicant pool, but also works to convert admitted applicants to enrolled students.
Work Interactions
Reporting to the Associate Dean and Managing Director, MBA Admissions and Executive Director, Program Marketing, the Director, MBA Recruitment and Diversity Partnerships directly manages (1) an Events and Marketing Coordinator who assists with event coordination, develops and executes inbound marketing strategies (e.g., social media and blog), and tracks and manages event attendees, and (2) an Assistant Director who oversees student and alumni engagement and assists with partnerships.
The Director oversees the team member who manages 10-12 graduate assistants (student ambassadors), as well as the team member who recruits, selects and trains between 50-60 graduate student volunteers, annually. And finally, the Director is externally facing and serves as the point of contact for our external partnerships (both new and old) and oversees our alumni relationship initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree - preference for a graduate degree related to business or marketing, marketing or events related experience
At least 7-9 years of experience within a corporate or university setting - preference for marketing or events related experience and for supervisory experience
Extremely strong interpersonal abilities and strong team orientation - on our team, we love 'we' people and not 'I' people
Ability to work with various constituencies, including prospective students, current students, alumni, faculty, and staff
Ability to maintain the strong community and culture we have
Ability to think strategically in the delivery of programs and services and to love innovation
Substantial working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Availability and willingness to work weekend and evening events and to travel, both international and domestic
Preferred qualifications
Comfort with working in Excel, analyzing data and managing budgets
Experience with Salesforce and Marketo - though training can be provided
