Job Description:NOVA Workforce Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. Teaching may include a variety of formats: face to face, remote, and online. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment.Duties and Tasks:Teach QuickBooks Exam preparations and QuickBooks EssentialsDevelop course syllabi and utilize Intuit/QuickBooks preparation instructional materials.Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS.Maintain current competence in QuickBooks and/or closely related certifications.Essential Functions: As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations.
KSAâ™sDeep knowledge of QuickBooks. Including bookkeeping, nonprofit and business applications in the workplace.Highly experienced Canvas/Blackboard or related LMS usage for instruction (assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, gradebook, modules).Excellent organizational skills and classroom management skills.Ability to work with groups of varying ages and skill levels â“ including differentiating instruction.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work individually as well as on a team.Excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent analytical skills.Required Qualifications:Two (2) years of teaching experience in QuickBooks for certificationsThree (3) years of documented bookkeeping/accounting experienceExperience training adult learnersExperience using learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
