Presidential Precinct whose mission is to engage and to inspire emerging leaders to address the most pressing challenges in their countries seeks a bold, decisive, collaborative, action-oriented executive who will lead the organization to new heights as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The new President and CEO should be driven by a desire to help improve the world by developing the young leaders who will drive change from the bottom up, starting in some of the world’s most challenging physical and political environments. The new President and CEO will help the board and our supporters meet these goals by acting as the external face and voice of the organization. The President and CEO must build upon strong existing relationships with five key sets of stakeholders, including staff, board, and alumni; partner institutions; funding sources, including individuals, corporations, and foundations; government, including the U.S. State Department, state governments, and key government contractors; and potential academic and philanthropic partners.
The organization believes in the transformative power of visionary leaders to create thriving, just, and free societies. Founded in 2012 with over 1,300 alumni from more than 160 countries (go to https://presidentialprecinct.org/what-we-do/ to see how these leaders are being changemakers), Presidential Precinct develops young—25 to 35 years old— international leaders who come from a host of counties, including Bolivia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Latvia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe The organization is a consortium that includes the University of Virginia, The College of William and Mary, President James Monroe’s Montpelier, and President James Madison’s Highland.
The Presidential Precinct offers a fast-paced, innovative, and values-based work environment. The organization is small, lean, and non-bureaucratic, uniting the flexibility of an independent nonprofit with the institutional strength of established program partners across government, business, and academic sectors. The Precinct is governed by a seasoned board of corporate executives, educators, and philanthropists. The board and staff are also guided by a remarkable group of alumni and international experts on the Precinct’s Advisory Council.
