The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology is a magnet Governor’s School in Alexandria, Virginia. TJ seeks to hire a part-time Latin Teacher for the 2022-23 school year.
Teach Latin that may span levels 1-3.
Develop engaging lesson plans and provide meaningful instruction to meet course requirements.
Willingness to sponsor clubs/activities.

Must have a bachelor’s degree in the Classics or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

About Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology
Established in 1985 by Fairfax County Public Schools, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) is a STEM Governor’s School supported by the Virginia Department of Education. The school was conceived among educators, businesses and community partners to create innovative education in science, mathematics, and technology. TJHSST is a magnet school serving the entire Northern Virginia region, and it has a four-year, full day program.
In 1999, local business leaders, parents, and alumni formed the TJ Partnership Fund (TJPF) as a nonprofit public foundation to help raise money to support TJHSST’s academic mission and role as a STEM education leader. The TJPF played a significant role fundraising for an extensive building and laboratory renovation in 2017.
Students are admitted through a highly selective merit-based application process. Faculty hold extensive advanced degrees and come from a variety of educational and industry backgrounds.
Most recently, TJHSST has been named America’s top public high school for the fourth consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report.
