ACTFL has an immediate opening for a HR Generalist/Recruiter. The HR Generalist/Recruiter will support the daily operations of the Human Resource (HR) department including full life cycle (end to end) recruitment, performance management, employee relations, staff development, and a wide range of HR generalist duties. They will develop a recruitment plan and innovative strategies to source diverse candidates by pre-screening candidates to assess their qualifications through a combination of behavioral and competency-based interviewing. This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
HR Generalist (70%)
Support the Director of Human Resources (DHR) in developing HR objectives and systems including executing personnel procedures and policies, suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the employee experience, HR department and organization
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
Conduct employee onboarding and oversee all new hire orientation, entering data into HRIS (Paycom), E-Verify and coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
Assist DHR in creating a professional development program to include communications, training, and monitoring
Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies
Provide HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
Perform additional HR generalist duties as needed and assigned
HR Recruitment (30%)
Manage the full life cycle recruiting across a variety of open roles helping management find, hire, and retain quality talent
Work and form relationships with department directors, managers, and teams to know the ins and outs of their departments and better understand their hiring needs and job specifications
Develop and release job postings on platforms, such as ASAE, Daybook, LinkedIn, social media, and job boards
Utilize knowledge of multiple recruiting sources and execute innovative recruiting strategies to find quality candidates
Screen resumes and prospects, qualify, interview, and manage candidates throughout interview process
Develop pipeline of talent, specifically for frequently filled positions as well as hard to fill positions
Provide consultation and training to hiring managers regarding recruitment and selection processes as well as interviewing
Continuously partner with Director of Human Resources to design, refine, and implement innovative recruiting strategies
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred degrees include Human Resources and/or Business Management and five (5) years of relevant work experience; or a Master’s degree and four (4) years relevant work experience. PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
Experience developing recruiting strategy
3+ years’ experience conducting full life cycle recruiting
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, ethics, and cultural awareness skills
Familiarity with job boards, and HR software, databases, and management systems
Proven experience conducting several types of interviews (i.e., phone, video, etc.)
Strong people skills with the ability to listen and empathize with others
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Flexible and adaptable interacting with staff at all levels in a rapidly changing environment
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
Association or nonprofit experience preferred
