Highlighted Responsibilities:
Internal and External Reporting
Prepare all internal financial reports monthly, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Budget vs Actual, KPI’s and Management Dashboard.
Maintain various financial spreadsheets and design ad hoc analysis tools as requested.
Prepare financial and other reporting to lenders and notes (monthly, quarterly, annual).
Loan Management
Oversee loan data management.
Ensure all loan system reports are accurate, complete and created on time.
Ensure accurate invoices are sent to clients on time.
GAAP Accounting
Oversee accounting-related work of Senior Accountant ensuring accuracy and completion of all accounting transactions.
Provide timely completion of GL Reconciliations and all other accounting-related reports.
Responsible for the successful completion of annual audit, including day to day interactions with the auditors, supervision of the organization’s contributors, preparation of various audit workpapers, and finalizing the financial statements.
Tax and Compliance
Responsible for tax return (990) completion.
Oversee 1099 creation and distribution.
Oversee state charitable registrations with support of Senior Accountant.
Oversee US and International Payroll.
Leadership and Administration
Create and maintain all of the organization’s Accounting and Loan System manuals.
Maintain internal controls documentation and processes, making suggestions for improvement.
Ensure adherence to internal controls including separation of duties and compensating controls.
Committee Engagement
Provide materials and agenda and actively participate in Audit Committee calls and presentations.
Participate in Finance Committee calls and presentations.
A well-qualified candidate will possess the following
Four to five years of experience as Controller in a small to medium sized organization.
Bachelor’s degree, with a major in Accounting.
CPA preferred.
Experience with and strong working knowledge of GAAP-based accounting and daily applications.
Experience managing audits with external CPA Firm.
Strong financial modeling and analysis skills a must, fluent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
