Mental Health America (MHA) is looking for an Affiliate Network Support Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, motivated, quick study with experience in administrative and membership support and event planning to support the MHA Affiliate Network and Regional Policy Council (RPC).

Job Overview:

The Affiliate Network Support Associate will support the EVP, Affiliate Network, including serving as the first point of contact with affiliates, managing day-to-day communications, and empowering an Affiliate Network focused on interactions, relationships, and knowledge sharing.

In coordination with RPC, the Associate will support the EVP of State and Federal Advocacy to ensure an optimal affiliate experience by garnering participation in the four annual RPC meetings, administrative record-keeping, and assisting with virtual and in-person outreach to stakeholders.

Although most MHA staff are working remotely due to COVID, this position is eligible for full-time remote employment. However, because many events take place in the Washington, DC area, non-local candidates will be expected to travel regularly (up to 25% when the pandemic ends). Local candidates are strongly encouraged.

Skills & Qualifications: 

• Customer service-oriented; understanding the customer service needs of affiliates, funders and volunteers
• 3+ years of related experience in membership, affiliate/chapter/component relations, or program management
• 2+ years of experience working with a CRM or AMS system
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional writing, verbal communications, presentation and relationship building skills
• Resourceful, with the ability to engage well in a team environment 
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Works well in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and adjust to shifting priorities
• Significant meeting planning experience desired
• Ability and experience managing and troubleshooting member inquiries to find resolutions
• Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or project management a plus
