NASSP seeks Membership Director who will oversees the recruitment and retention of school leaders (principals and assistant principals) and student leader programs through five programs: NASSP, NHS, NJHS, NEHS and National Student Council. As NASSP is entering a new strategic plan that prioritizes growing, servicing and engaging school and student leaders, the Membership Director will serve as an organizing strategist, need to build their team with a field staff component, and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
Recruitment and Retention Campaigns
Organizing strategist to oversee the goals, priorities, budget and administration of all recruitment and retention efforts of school leaders and student program chapters.
Working closely with the communications team, direct development of the acquisition and retention campaigns for student and school leaders, ensuring focus aligns with strategic objectives of the organization and addresses the unique needs of each member group.
Manage ongoing renewal campaigns.
Collaborate across the organization to identify and expand membership value for school and student leaders and improve recruitment, renewal and retention of membership through intentional outreach and support programs.
Reports and Analysis
Analyze and synthesize data to evaluate trends and adjust acquisition/retention efforts and budget projections as needed.
Working with the information systems team, develop new reports and streamline existing reports.
Deliver monthly reports to the executive team and quarterly reports to the board of directors
State Association Coordination
Work closely with state associations to foster a collaborative relationship with school leader recruitment.
Create and maintain an affiliation agreement that identifies the expectations of each party, establishment and enforcement of policies, and creation and management of new services.
Track state membership fees and benefits.
Recruits, coaches, mentors and develops team members towards achieving strategic goals.
Oversee member benefit vendors (e.g., life insurance provider) and procurement of additional
Minimum of ten years of experience leading membership or constituent management strategies.
Demonstrated experience working in a leadership role, managing the work of others, and guiding a multi-disciplinary organization to meet the organization’s mission.
Preferred background and understanding of K12 education, especially education membership organizations and nonprofits
Demonstrated experience in growing membership and strengthening membership retention.
Demonstrated experience in Customer Relationship Management systems and software.
Demonstrate problem solving skills, anticipating needs, determining priorities and meeting deadlines.
Demonstrated experience overseeing budgets
