The WateReuse Association is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration to oversee the Association’s finances and business administration needs. Successful applicants will have a minimum of five years’ experience in non-profit finance, hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred), possess excellent organization and analytical skills, and work well with a small team of professionals. The position is full-time with competitive salary and benefits and currently requires ability to telework full-time within the DMV region. Overview of Job Duties:
Key leadership role reporting to the CEO in the areas of Finance, Human Resources and Office Administration. The role is responsible for supporting the WateReuse Association (WRA) policies, goals and objectives that have been established by the CEO and the Board of Directors. The Director of Finance and Administration is responsible for directing the fiscal function of WRA in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices appropriate within the non-profit industry
Scope of Responsibilities:
Works directly with the CEO in preparation of the annual budget.
Manages WRA’s finance, human resources, and office administration functions.
Monitors and oversees the Association's overall financial operation and condition.
Provides staff support to the Investment committee and participates in monthly Executive Committee meetings and Treasurer meetings.
Supervisory responsibilities for Business Operations Manager and Membership Director.
Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate organizations fiscal and administrative performance.
Develops organizational financial policies and HR policies and procedures and ensures organizational compliance.
Develops and enhances policies and procedures that will improve the operational performance and effectiveness of the organization.
Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends to assist the CEO, the Board of Directors, and other senior staff in performing their responsibilities.
In conjunction with the CEO, develops and manages the organizational budget development for WRA and its state sections.
Oversees and reviews accounts payable and accounts receivable for the organization.
Manages handling of banking relationships and investment firm relationships.
Prepares monthly financial reports for WRA and its state sections and prepares financial forecasts on a regular basis.
Develops a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
Responsible for managing the annual audit and working directly with the auditors including timely and accurate completion of all audit schedules.
Manage organizations benefit packages and annual renewal process.
