The Inova Office of Research (IOR) is seeking a Business Analyst to create and perform analysis on financial and operational data. The successful candidate will support the implementation of improvement plans and new initiatives, and the promotion of sound business analysis and project management principles. Identify, document, measure, monitor, and recommend improvements to automated and non-automated financial/business processes in collaboration with stakeholders, in the core areas of federally funded research, grant management and other clinical research. Participate in staff education and accounting processes as needed. As assigned, the candidate will lead and manage department activities to achieve Inova's mission and strategic objectives creating strong project momentum and building stakeholder ownership.
Coordinates or performs a wide variety of financial, administrative and/or data management activities to support research compliance functions specific to federally funded and other research studies.
Coordinates and tracks financial aspects of clinical study from study protocol submission to study closure fostering the use of Excel matrices and the Forte Oncore clinical trials management system to monitor financial aspects of studies including preparing sponsor invoices.
Adheres to accounting principles, regulatory guidelines and Inova policies related to federally funded and other studies.
Works closely with Corporate Accounting and communicates changes in federal funded and other studies effectively to Corporate Accounting and study team.
Makes a continuous effort to foster understanding and adherence to A133 and Uniform Guidance Guidelines.
Staff training and auditing experience preferred.
