The Senior Manager, Accounting is a leader at ISTE and required to provide support for all ISTE Accounting and Forecasting services. This position requires the ability to think strategically, act independently, and demonstrate mastery in accounting and finance. Responsible for identifying tasks, deadlines and priorities within the role, and managing these tasks independently. The position is a support service for ISTE and involves maintaining positive partnerships with co-workers, members, vendors, and other external groups-which is vital to success in the role. 

Position-Specific Duties

• Manage the Sales Order to Cash Receipt process.
• Manage revenue recognition for restricted funds, events, and other deferred revenue items.
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Manage the forecasting process in Workday to improve the quality of information available to budget owners.
• Manage the annual financial statement audit.
• Manage business insurance policies including renewals, amendments, and claims processing.
• Manage corporate annual filings with states including property tax and business taxes; and annual tax filings including the 990 and 990-T and the 5500.
• Maintain records in accordance with the ISTE document retention policy
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant professional field with a minimum of (5) years of experience in a role of Accounting Manager or similar position. 
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
• Significant experience with Sage Intacct.
• Additional direct experience with financial and productivity applications such as Salesforce, Workday (fromerly Adaptive), Nexonia, Bil.com, Sertify, Office, and GSuite or similar. 
• 7-10 years relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Proven ability to be a collaborative leader within a matrixed organizational structure.
• Experience working in associations or nonprofits a plus.

• Strong understanding of grant management processes.
