Immediate opening for a full-time Development Assistant. Duties include but not limited to supporting the Director of Development and fundraising activities. This position will be the primary administrator for the school's constituent database ensuring accurate data entry and tracking systems. BA or AA degree with at least 5 years of fundraising experience. Experience with fundraising platforms strongly preferred. Proficiency with Adobe InDesign a plus. Familiar with GuideStar and Charity Navigator, 990 tax returns and ability to prospect through various media channels. This position required a high energy level, must be flexible and comfortable with managing multi-faceted projects along with day-to-day activities using sound judgment and discretion. Physical requirements may include sight, hearing, standing for extended periods. Must be physically able to interact and participate in most school functions. Hours are typically Monday through Friday with some evenings and weekends.

The Summit School is a not-for-profit full day special education program approved by the State of Maryland for student with specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other learning differences, and is accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland and DC Schools (AIMS). The school was established in September 1989 to promote literacy and success for bright children, grades 1-8, ages 6-15, who have unique educational needs and who have often been diagnosed with a language-based learning disability.
