The Donor Associate II is a proven front-line fundraiser responsible for securing gifts of $500 to $1,800 from individuals and families. This person will personally manage and develop a prospect portfolio aimed at significantly increasing major gift support at Perlman Camp. Reporting to the Director of Sustainability and Engagement and working with other members of the development team, the Donor Associate II works with staff and lay leadership in managing these donor and prospect relationships to foster and sustain a culture of philanthropy at Perlman Camp. This position’s additional responsibilities include: manage day-to-day donor database updates and maintenance; plan and implement alumni and donor engagement activities; plan, draft, and deliver promotional communications across print and digital platforms; support Fundraising Committee initiatives and manage sub-committee activities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Donor Relations
Serve as a key fundraiser for a portfolio of approximately 50 Guardian Society donors with the capacity to make $1,800+ annual donations.
Establish fundraising goals for each prospect, in consultation with management, and develop strategies to achieve them.
Participate in all aspects of the gift cycle: Identify, qualify, rate, and prioritize donors and prospective donors for cultivation and solicitation.
Prepare written proposals and verbal for individuals within portfolio, and solicit for donation.
Manage proposal entries and targeted gift amounts with anticipated gift closure dates in the donor database, and monitor progress throughout the gift cycle for each donor.
Alumni and Donor Engagement
Coordinate with Alumni Association to promote and host year-round activities, including annual summer reunion at camp.
Recognize all donors and volunteers accordingly through personalized ‘thank you’ efforts.
Support efforts of Development Committee by managing sub-committee activities and campaigns, managing project timelines, and providing promotional and logistical support as needed.
Maintain relationships with committee members and convene regular committee calls with established agendas and minutes.
Contribute to the organization's overall efforts to meet annual fundraising goals, coordinating the solicitation efforts of paid development staff, Board members and volunteers, as needed.
Process incoming donations and pledges in our eTapestry database, creating acknowledgement letters and pledge reminders as needed.
Maintain alumni and donor information in eTapestry, updating contact information on an ongoing basis.
Run recurring and ad-hoc queries to analyze donor and donation data, and generate reports to share results.
Conduct prospect research and update eTapestry as needed.
Create digital and print campaign materials, along with other donor and alumni correspondence.
Support the implementation of an online plan through e-blasts and social media.
Manage outgoing communications plan.
Create Perlman branded materials, and ensure that Perlman Camp brand is accurately represented in print, t-shirts, promotional items, print ads, etc.
Maintain vendor relationships with print media, promotional vendors, etc, to order branded supplies as needed.
Provide support for grant proposals and annual grantee reports to various funders (may include corporate, foundation or government agencies).
Maintain a schedule of deadlines for applications and reports.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Non-Profit Administration, or Public Administration preferred.
3 - 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably including 2 years+ of frontline solicitation experience.
Successful experience developing donor cultivation and solicitation strategies, as well as making cold calls.
Highly energetic strategist with a demonstrated track record of building donor relationships and successfully closing major gifts from individuals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience developing case statements and donor proposals.
Superior interpersonal communication skills required, along with the ability to work effectively in a results-oriented team environment.
Proficiency with constituent management and fundraising software. E-Tapestry preferred.
Ability to handle complex assignments with multiple, time-sensitive priorities with minimal supervision. Project management experience preferred.
Possess an understanding of fundraising industry standards, especially with regard to the legal and ethical aspects of donor solicitation, confidentiality, gift crediting, stewardship, and financial principles that shape the work of fundraising professionals.
Ability and willingness to travel within key geographic areas within the United States, with an average of one to two out-of-town trips per month, and frequent summer visits with donors and prospects to the Pennsylvania campsite.
