Saint Luke Institute, a 501(c)3 nonprofit private Behavioral Health Care Facility for Catholic priests and religious located in Silver Spring, MD (www.sli.org), seeks an experienced individual to fill the position of Development and Communications Associate.
This full-time position will support the Director of Development with fundraising and assist with the communication efforts of the Institute. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain database for donors to include entering gifts into donor record, prepare appropriate donor acknowledgement, and file documentation.
Organize and maintain development records, office files, and other material.
Perform donor and prospect research on individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Prepare and design communications and marketing content and collateral for distribution (i.e. design brochures/other collateral, email communications, liaison with printers, and website postings).
Prepare and coordinate department mailings; process incoming and outgoing mail.
Assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings.
Support leadership to plan and manage fundraising events.
Perform other tasks as requested by the Director of Development and executive leadership.
Other duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree plus five years of related experience.
Must be proficient in use of computers for word-processing; databases (DonorPerfect, GiftMaker Pro or Raiser’s Edge); spreadsheets and Internet-based research; Office 2010 (Publisher, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access); and Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat), and be familiar with WordPress.
Possess highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, strong collaborative and project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
Must be organized and detail oriented.
Must have strong problem-solving skills and good judgment.
Job requires flexibility, tact, confidence and strong instincts for protocol and etiquette.
Must understand and practice a high standard of confidentiality and ethical information collection.
