Foggy Bottom West End (FBWE) Village is a nonprofit neighborhood, volunteer- driven, membership organization providing services and social activities to help residents live independently in their homes for the long term. The FBWE neighborhood is composed of numerous high-rise and low-rise apartments and historic row houses, and is home to mainly urban professionals and empty nesters. A Board of Directors oversees the finances and operation of the Village.
Role of Executive Director
The Executive Director (Director) is the senior staff person for the Village. This full time position reports to the Board of Directors and takes direction from its President.
Build and oversee a Membership /Services Committee.
Maintain and increase Village membership.
Recruit and manage a sustainable Volunteer Committee that increases the scope and utilization of services.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with outside resources and community organizations.
Design and execute ongoing volunteer training and recognition programs.
Sustain and oversee Program Committee.
Manage, oversee and evaluate success of Village activities, programs, and special events.
Development and Administration
Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and maintain strategic and tactical plans.
Manage office, including budgets, staff, confidential information, bookkeeping and expenditures.
Assist and support the Development Committee to raise funds to sustain the Village. Manage and implement grants.
Marketing and Communications
Build and oversee databases that reflect the activities of operational committees.
Handle and improve marketing, public relations, and constituent communications through newsletters, Directors Notes, Annual Report, press releases, media, Village website.
Serve as the public relations representative and liaison to funding sources, government agencies, community groups, national and local village organizations, and other villages.

Strong and successful track record of managing employees, programs and finances and working as a team.
Demonstrated initiative and good judgment in prioritizing
Excellent organizational, listening, oral and written communication skills.
Prefer master’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Management, Public Health Administration, Gerontology, Aging Services, or Social Work.
Prefer experience in nonprofits and reporting to a Board of Directors.
Significant knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, Word, PDF, and Excel. Experience working with QuickBooks and Constant Contact preferred.
Ability to work in evenings and weekends when needed.
Must be honest, trustworthy and ethical. Candidate will be required to undergo a background check.
Salary and benefits commensurate with experience. No relocation.
