The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) the largest society in the world for professionals in the field of operations research (O.R.), management science, and analytics is searching for a Marketing Coordinator.
The Marketing Coordinator will assist in developing and implementing marketing and communication plans along with other marketing activities, such as social media, direct mail, and email marketing that drive and support INFORMS programs and mission. Must have an entrepreneurial and business development approach to marketing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and executes marketing plans for areas of assigned focus, such as membership, conferences, publications, magazines, and other programs..
Creates content and implements social media, digital, and email campaigns including developing plans and schedules.
Actively coordinates marketing data for lead generation that supports and nurtures pipeline processes.
Analyzes marketing, social media, website, and other data to assist with implementation of strategies and tactics to meet changing customer needs and competitive conditions.
Assist with implementation of programs that enhance brand awareness and communications.
Conducts assigned market research initiatives.
Remains current on industry trends and competitors to effectively enter new markets and improve standing in existing markets.
Works with assigned programs to meet short- and long-term goals and activities, including developing policies & administrative procedures, tracking budget, maintaining data on and engaging with volunteers and other organizations to continually improve the program’s success.
KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Strong writing skills, and the ability to draft, edit, and proofread a variety of communications materials.
Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, practice, content marketing and communication channels.
Self-starter with demonstrated initiative to build and grow relationships
Familiarity with digital/social medial and web analytics, with the ability to analyze traffic and report findings.
Experience working in a nonprofit association preferred.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email (Outlook)
Experience in the Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator) preferred
Experience / certification in HubSpot preferred
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, demonstrated ability to effectively work professionally with all internal departments, association volunteers, and customers.
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, Business, or related discipline.
3-5 years marketing experience
Must be innovative, a self-starter who is able to translate ideas into programs.
Demonstrated business and marketing ability and organizational skills.
Experience with charitable and nonprofit organizations a plus.
Flexibility to travel as required, 2-3 times a year.
