Episcopal High School seeks an experienced communications professional to complete its four-person office. The EHS Communications Office is responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy that conveys the School’s unique character and mission, builds the School’s brand, and strengthens relationships with and among the School’s various constituencies.
The associate director for content creation is a full-time, year-round position. This individual is responsible for planning, managing, and writing strong and engaging content that supports the School's mission and goals across all forms of media, print and digital. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and a creative and prolific writer. Outstanding editing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once are a must. Ideal candidates will be highly-motivated, detail-oriented, and bring critical skills to a team of four charged with managing a wide range of communications demands. Manages the writing and production for three magazine issues annually;
Drafts copy for print collateral and magazines, electronic, broadcast, social and external media, events, and other projects;
Reports the news of the School through features, news reports, general writing, and editing for the School's departments that informs internal and external audiences.
A bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, English, communications, or related field;
At least three years of relevant, full-time experience in independent schools, higher education, nonprofit, or a public relations or marketing office;
Vibrant, engaging writing style and ability to write on a deadline required;
Demonstrated mastery of high-quality, professional-level concept development, copywriting and editing, including experience writing, editing, proofreading, and organizing content for print, websites, and other electronic publications/communications;
Expertise in managing production of print materials, including brochures, annual reports, magazines, and admissions collateral;
Ability to write according to AP Stylebook and Chicago Manual of Style.
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience with social media, graphic design, photography, videography, or other skills essential to a small communications office. Experience with key programs within the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) is a strong plus.
