Position: Major Gifts Director Department: Mission Advancement
Reports To: VP of Development & Mission Advancement
Responsible for securing major gifts by implementing and managing Trinity Missions’ major giving program to enhance the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity efforts to serve the poor and abandoned. This includes overseeing donor research, identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship and recognition. Assist the VP of Development in executing strategies for the U.S. and International fundraising.
Major Gifts Program Initiatives and Management
Work in close coordination with the Vice President for Development and Mission Advancement to design and implement a comprehensive development program and appropriate marketing strategies.
Manage major donor cultivation and stewardship by ensuring all internal processes are adequate to support the expanded fundraising program, including research and analytical prospecting practices.
Aggressively seek new corporate/foundation funding sources and maintains relationships with current/past donors. Represents Trinity Missions in meeting with potential funding sources.
Assist the VP of Development with special campaign revenue generation, stewardship and donor outreach.
Oversee prospect identification, research database and predictive models, demographic overlays.
Use moves management process to track cultivation steps and maintain up to date records of major giving prospects and donors.
Donor Stewardship and Outreach
Develop strong and lasting relationships with current and prospective Major Donors through regular communication via mail, telephone, and email, and occasional personal visits.
Develop and implement Major Donor stewardship and recognition programs and events. Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master Degree in fundraising, or nonprofit management preferred.
Certification in fundraising
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Knowledge of the Catholic faith required and practicing Catholic preferred.
Highly developed interpersonal skills. Ability to meet people with ease.
Strong organizational skills, well disciplined, able to work under pressure of many priorities and meet deadlines.
General knowledge of marketing and communication strategies.
Experience with fundraising software and moves management.
Strong interpersonal, oral and writing skills.
Self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
High degree of proficiency with computers and computer programs – particularly
Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Amergent Portfolio fundraising software.
Strict adherence and knowledge of generally accepted fundraising policies, standards and values, and the AFP Code of Ethics.
This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.
