Bloomberg American Health Initiative (BAHI) seeks to improve America's health by focusing on five areas where public health is positioned to make tangible differences. Established though a $300 million gift from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the initiative will focus on addiction and overdose, environmental challenges, obesity and the food system, risks to adolescent health, and violence.
Responsible for participating in all aspects of the Fellowship process with primary responsibility for informing, educating, recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating BAHI student applications. Work closely with the MPH Program office and be responsible for the processing of BAHI applications. Develop, oversee and regularly conduct public presentations designed to promote the Bloomberg American Health Initiative.
Responsible for conducting recruitment and application Reviews. Serve as primary recruiter and reader for all BAHI applications and conduct presentations to advance recruitment efforts. Recruitment and outreach efforts will be focused on community, governmental, nonprofit, private, faith-based, philanthropic organizations in an effort to recruit further public health leaders with a commitment to advancing health in the above five focus areas. Responsible for conducting information sessions on program and degree requirements, responding to routine request from prospective applicants, review and evaluate applications for admission, and assist in the collection and analysis of information to drive BAHI recruitment efforts. May coordinate/manage various recruitment projects, e.g., act as tour guide and coordinate day visits or overnight stays of prospective students. If applicable, work with Admission Services Office to evaluate and confirm credentials of international students. Manage internal and external relationships including, faculty, counselors, prospective students and families, current students, university administrators, and sponsoring organizations. Collaborate with others to resolve student and faculty concerns or questions relating to BAHI. Maintain current knowledge of BAHI's structure, curriculum, and activities. Work closely with the BAHI Associate Director, Admissions Office and the MPH Program Office to create, modify and make recommendations to improve the Fellowship process. Some travel to recruit, educate, and interview prospective students may be involved.
